| The history of Hermitage cats began from XVII age when Peter the Great brought from Holland a cat and settled him at The Winter Palace. Later the Empress Elisabeth issued "Decree on deportation to the court of cats" there were the order to find at the Kazan city the best and the biggest cats which could catch a mouses. After founded the Hermitage by Catherine the Great a cats became the saver of the picture gallery. Nowadays at The Hermitade spend special project in which visitors of the museums can the uniq apportunity to meet the heros of project - Hermitage cats. The artists of Saint-Petersburg are conducting competition of picture in the Main yard of Winter Palace and there are visitors can help Hermitage cats to find the masterpieces from the Hermitage collection at the museums halls. |
